Mrs. C. W. Bowen this noon received a telegram from Hutchison, Kans., announcing the death there of Mrs. Rachel Mowbray, at the home of her granddaughter, Miss Mattie Beall, and that the remains would be brought to Centerville for interment, leaving Hutchinson tonight and doubtless arriving here tomorrow afternoon on Rock Island No. 2 at 3:20 o'clock. Carriages will meet the train and the burial will doubtless be from the train, although Mrs. Bowen wired to have the remains taken direct to her home and hold the funeral from the there the next day. The granddaughter Miss Mattie Beall, will accompany the remains.

Mrs. Mowbray will be well remembered by the older residents of the city, as she and her husband lived here several years ago and with their foster daughter, Mrs. J. K. Boyles, conducted the Keystone hotel. They moved to Hutchinson, Kans. about twenty years ago where Mr. Mowbray died soon afterwards and was brought back to Centerville for burial.

Mrs. Mowbray was about eighty years of age and had lived with her granddaughter Miss Beall, for several years. Her many old friends will be saddened to hear of her death and will desire to attend the funeral service.

* Mary Ellen Boyles her foster daughter is also buried here. Mary Ellen was the mother of Mattie Beall.
