Sylvia Eudora Hinote was born on April 23, 1920 in Bellingham to John and Antonetta Bredal. She passed away on May 8, 2003 at her home in Lynden. Sylvia graduated from Bellingham High School and married Harold Hinote on June 9, 1943. They lived in South Carolina while Harold served in the Army Air Corps. The couple later moved back to Bellingham and then to Anacortes, WA where they owned and operated an appliance store. Upon retirement, Sylvia and Harold moved into their home in Lynden.

Friends and family remember Sylvia's enjoyment in meeting and visiting with people, her love of walking, and her desire to give to others. She also enjoyed music, and spending time with children.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Harold on March 29, 2002. She is survived by daughter Annette and son-in-law Harold Thompson and granddaughters Hayley and Molly Thompson of Eugene, OR sister, Marion Deyon of Bellingham, WA and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 17th, at Hope Lutheran Church in Lynden, WA. Inurnment will be at Greenacres|Moles Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Arc of Lane County, 45 W. Broadway, Suite 205, Eugene, OR 97401.
