Joel Junior Sartin, (Punkin), 60, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 1997. Mr. Sartin was preceded in death by his father, Jack Sartin; daughter, Susan Jean Sartin, and brother, J. W. Sartin. Surviving are his mother, Lucy C. Sartin, Salem; his sons and daughter-in-law, Darrell J. and Rhonda Sartin of Glen Lyn and Jeffrey A. Sartin of Narrows; former wife, Alice Jean Sartin; his grandchildren, J. W., Josh and Jacob Sartin, and Steven Meadows; brothers and their wives, Calvin (Pat) and Charlotte Sartin, Alvin and Pam Sartin, Basil and Linda Sartin, and Donald (Duck) and Shirley Sartin; sisters and their husbands, Cree and Berlin Weiss, Ruth and Gene Stafford, Estelle Lafon, Joann Sartin, Linda and Mike Craft, and Dreama and Donnie Page; special niece, Brittany Pugh, and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Salem Chapel at 3 p.m. Friday, June 27, 1997, with the Rev. Tony Holly and the Rev. Gene Stafford officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lotz Salem Chapel after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
