Thomas "Stuart" Gescheidle, 84, of Gonzales, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. He was born December 20, 1921 in Gonzales to the late Thomas E. and Cora Jane Poe Gescheidle, of both of Diamond Grove, respectively . He was a member of the Gonzales Young Farmers, Gonzales Hermann Sons Lodge and the First Lutheran Church. He married Norma Johanna Rossow on November 4, 1942 in Gonzales.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Beverly Jean Pirkle and husband Steve, Norma June Turk and husband Michael, all of Gonzales; Nancy Lea Stobaugh and husband Dale of Austin; one son, George Ray Gescheidle, of Gonzales; nine grandchildren, Connie Kacir, Terry Pirkle, Michael Pirkle, Laura Conley, Randy Pirkle, Jennifer Boehm, Jarrid Boehm, Kyle Stobaugh and Sara Stobaugh; five great-grandchildren, Stephanie Baker, Ty Pirkle, Mallorie Pirkle, Madison Pirkle and Karli Hill; one sister, Mildred Collard of Houston and one brother, Malcolm Gescheidle of Gonzales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Mercer, Deanne Hagen, Edna Mae Gescheidle; brothers, George, Alfred, Ray and Elvin Gescheidle.

Funeral services were held at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home on Friday, April 14, 2006 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Steve Clark officiating. Burial followed at the Woodmen of the World Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Kacir, Terry Pirkle, Michael Pirkle, Tim Conley, Randy Pirkle and Kyle Stobaugh.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Bruce McKee, Dr. Gary Kappmeyer, Jarrid Boehm, Dale Stobaugh, Sam Turk, Malcolm Gescheidle, Alfred Collard and Larry Reynolds.

Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church Building Fund, Alzheimer's Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 120 Wall Street, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005 or to Hospice of South Texas.
