Ross was born in January of 1912 in Denton, Texas. His parents moved to Austin when he was 12 years old. He graduated from S.F. Austin High in 1930. He attended the University of Texas for 2 years before the depression made it impossible for him to finish his studies. He worked for several electrical repair shops. In September of 1938, he married Odie Bartosh of Granger, Texas.
In 1942, Ross was called to Civil Service at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, where he was the shop planner and estimator.
In 1946, he moved his family back to Austin. He started a motor shop in 1946 which is still in working business carried on by two of his sons called Hamilton Electric Works at 3800 Airport. Ross was a wonderful husband and father. He believed in treating people fair and with respect. He enjoyed road trips, boating, woodworking, and projects. He was quite the handy man. He could fix just about anything. He will be missed by many.
Ross was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Hamilton; father, Charles Ross
Hamilton, Sr.; and his first born son, Charles R. Hamilton III.
Visitation was Friday, April 21, 2006, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar, Austin, Texas with recitation of the rosary.
