Frank of the town of Sarona, died on Thursday, July 8, 2004, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.

He was born on April 2, 1925, to Benjamin and Maria (DePalma) Lombard in Spooner, and was raised in Spooner.

On Sept. 30, 1948, he married Dorothy Roeser in Shell Lake. They farmed near Tozer Lake in the town of Bashaw until 1960 when they moved to the town of Lakeland near Barronett, where they farmed. They retired in 1990 and moved to the town of Sarona.

He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Holy Trinity Council No. 5397, both of Spooner. He served several terms as town supervisor for the town of Lakeland and served for 12 years on the Washburn County Board of Supervisors, representing District 13.

Survivors include his wife; 10 children, Linda (Bill) Hines of Superior, Ben Lombard and Susan (Tom) Miller, both of Menomonie, Ted (Flo) of Anchorage, Alaska, Mary (Dan) Smith of Astoria, Ore., Doreen (Casey) Cassidy and Francine Lombard, both of Wasilla, Alaska, Willy (Vickie) of Sarona, Andy (Hope) of Fairplay, Colo., and Tony of Sarona; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Kathryn) of Minneapolis; three sisters, Mary Sutton of Chicago, Angeline LaPage of Spooner, and Esther Parker of Shell Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis, on Oct. 30, 2000; two brothers, Carmen “Tony” and Michael; and two sisters, Annie Dahlstrom and Lucy Jakoubek.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Spooner. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci will be celebrant. Music will be provided by the church choir accompanied by Sr. Dominica Effertz and also by Heather Hines and Tom Dahlstrom.

Casket bearers will be Bob and Jack Dahlstrom, Bill LaPage, Bob and John Lombard, and Dick Powers. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Shell Lake.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Scalzo Funeral Home in Spooner, with a 7:30 p.m. scripture service, and at the church for an hour prior to the Mass.
