BRADLEY, West Virginia: On December 11, 2014 our sweet 99 year old mother, grandmother, sister, and friend went home to be with Jesus.
Gracie Lottie Dotson of Bradley was born September 12, 1915 in Meadow Bridge to the late Lake Gwinn and Esta Gwinn.
Gracie loved spending time with her family and going to church at Cranberry Baptist where she was a member. She worked for Richmond's Dry Cleaners for 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Dotson; a son, George G. Dotson; son-in-law, James Barley; and 14 siblings including her twin sister, Macie.
Those left to cherish her memory and will always have a special place in their hearts include her loving children, Verona Barley of Mansfield, Ohio, Carolyn Sauder and husband, Bob of Bellville, Ohio, and John Dotson and wife, Libby of Maple Fork; a sister, Virgia Callison of San Jose, California; 9 grandchildren, Bob Barley and wife, Sallie, George Barley and wife, Kim, Debbie Cook and husband, Rick, Kris Sparks and husband, Rob, Kim Reiss and husband, Mike, and Kathy Dickey and husband, Raleigh "Cappy" all of Ohio and JR Dotson and wife, Leanne, Michael Dotson and wife, Alyson, and Heather Neal and husband, Jeff all of West Virginia; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren and three on the way.
Services to celebrate the life of Gracie Lottie Dotson will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Roger E. Pauley officiating. Following the services Gracie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, George at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Grandsons, George, Bobby, JR, Rob, Michael, and Jeff will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations of sympathy be made in her honor to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley.
