Lebanon, NH – William “Bill” Gerald Gee, 79, died Wednesday night, December 10, 2014 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born December 3, 1935 in Hanover, NH the son of Gerald and Lydia (Bean) Gee. William grew up in Wilder, VT and graduated from Hartford High School. He served in the U.S Navy as a radio operator on a navy destroyer. Following the service he attended college in Boston, Massachusetts where he met Suzanne Gingras. He received his degree from Brighton-Stratton Commercial College. He and Suzanne were married in 1961 and had two children, Jay and Kelly. He worked in the Boston area for a short time before moving back to the Upper Valley where he started his long and successful career at Cold Region Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, NH. Later in 1981 he married Linda (Smith) DeCoff. They had a daughter, April. He was an active community member in Canaan, NH where he lived most of his life. He loved and supported his home town in so many different ways, whether serving as a selectman, coaching little league, working with the snowmobile or lions clubs, helping on fund raising events and so much more. He was also a member of the local Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion in Lebanon, NH.

Bill loved fishing, was an avid Patriot’s and Red Sox fan and following his retirement, found great pleasure working part time at Ragged Mountain Resort where he made many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Elizabeth “Betty” Hamilton and a nephew Stephen Hamilton.

William is survived by a son, Gerald “Jay” G. Gee of Milton, MA, his two daughters, Kelly A. Loupis and her husband Greg of Hanover, NH, April M. Flanders and her husband Josh of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Heather Gee, Hayley Gee, Tyler Gee and Jaxson Flanders as well as a nephew Bill and nieces Suzie and Beth.

A gathering to greet the family will be held Tuesday evening, December 16 from 5-7PM at the Knight funeral Home in White River Jct. followed by a memorial service at 7PM. Burial will be held at a later date in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct., VT.
