ERMA LUCILLE GUIDRY,age 96, a lifelong resident of Deer Park, Texas, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014. She was born in Kennard, Texas on September 11, 1918 to Tom and Minnie Ainsworth. She was one of twelve children. Erma grew up in rural East Texas on a farm and was very proud of her upbringing. She attended Kennard High School where she was active in many different sports, her favorite being basketball. She was the oldest active member of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas. Erma is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Guidry, and two grandsons, Jerry and Brian Jackson. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Guidry of Austin, daughter, Carolyn Jackson of Deer Park, son, Fred Guidry
and wife, Gay of Pasadena, and son Thomas Guidry and wife Bonnie of Deer Park, Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the AFA (Alzheimer's Foundation of America).
Visitation will be Sunday, December 14, from 5:00-8:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home and Funeral Service will be held at the Grand View Chapel Monday at 2:00pm. Pastor Brannon Revel will be officiating.
