Rhonda, received her early education at St. John the Baptist Catholic School and was a 1969 graduate of St. Jude High School. She completed her education at Alabama State University earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees.
After working in several local concerns Rhonda spent most of her professional life working at Alabama State University in the Office of Career Services from which she retired earlier in 2014.
Rhonda was an active member of St. John AME Church and delighted in singing in the Women's Choir, the Gospel Choir and the Combined Choir. Her service at St. John included all aspects of food and hospitality ministry. A survivor of cancer until her passing, Rhonda, was utterly devoted to the American Cancer Society and zealously supported all the local efforts to raise funds for cancer research. Ronnie, as she was affectionately known, was an incredible loving and strong person who's circle of family and friends returned the devoted love she lavished on them.
Forever cherishing her memories are: her brother, Chelsea L. Hargrove,III, sister-in-law and heart, Anita R. Hargrove; nieces, Alexis Michelle Shoemake and her husband Marcus; nephews, Chelsea Hargrove, IV and Andrew Hargrove (Shalunda Rowell) and several great nieces and nephews and an array of devoted and loving friends.
