He was born July 17, 1923, to Robert and Bessie Pearl (Parker) Henderson in Avard.
Chet was raised in the Award and Waynoka areas where he attended school.
Chet proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He met his future wife Ruth Jones while stationed in South Carolina and they were married Nov. 1, 1944, in Bennettsville, S.C. Following marriage they moved back to Oklahoma and have lived in Tecumseh since 1981.
Chet worked at Tinker AFB for many years and received numerous Quality Excellence Awards before retiring Tinker.
He enjoyed watching all kinds of airplanes and birds.
He spent many hours making wood models of airplanes, cars, dinosaurs and anything else he could find to make a model of. Chet enjoyed listening to old time country music, big band music and working with his wife Ruth in keeping their yard beautifully manicured.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruth, on May 30, 2003.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters and two sons-in-law, Catherine Gillock of Mustang, Barbara and Ed Brezny of Tecumseh, and Jo and Gene Burns of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Shelly and Bret Van Meter, Van Gillock, Bill and Bonnie Raines, David and Every Raines, Dusty Burns, Chaz Burns, and Shane Burns; six great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
