She was the daughter of Avery and AnnaBelle (Autry) Hays. She had lived in this area all of her life and married Elmer E. "Little Ed" Ervin on Feb. 14, 1938, in Hartshorne. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and taking care of her family. She was a resident of Haileyville and passed away at a local nursing center at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Ervin; two sons, Joseph Edward Ervin and Elmer Earl "Beaver" Ervin; two granddaughters, Stacie O'Kelley and Melinda O'Kelley; two brothers, Cecil Hays and Andrew Hays, and sisters, Virl Turk, Violette Cogburn, AnnaBelle Burk, Uthana Long, Betty Lewis and Margaret Goble. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with the Rev. Lonnie Clunn officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
