She was born in McAlester, the daughter of Johnny Ray and Lisa Sue (Slotta) Russell. She grew up in Hartshorne and was a senior at Hartshorne High School. Over the past few years she had worked at the Sonic Drive-In, Simple Simon's Pizza and The Country Kitchen in Haileyville. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartshorne. She was a resident of Hartshorne and died at the age of 17 in an auto accident along with Tomothy Telinde. Survivors include her parents, John and Lisa Russell, of the home; one brother and sister, Jonathan Brett Russell and Summer Dawn Russell; her grandparents, Paul and Sue Slotta, of Hartshorne. Also, her aunts and uncles, James and Carol Russell, of Hartshorne, Mike and Karen Slotta, of Hartshorne, Ernie and Brenda Russell, of Hartshorne, David and Brenda Slotta, of Hartshorne, and Marchaela Thomason, of McAlester, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lola and Junior Russell; an uncle, Mike Russell, and her great grandparents, John and Lucille Slotta, Bill and Ella Ryan, and Beulah Doshier. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, east of Hartshorne, with the Rev. Clint Pope officiating. Pallbearers will be Cody Edwards, Shannon Edwards, Jaylon Jennings, Shawn Dorrell, Anthony Dorrell, Dustin Thurman, Jeff Dedmon and Brandon Dunagan. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Holmes, Kyle Woody, Keane Voegele, Jessie Edge, Jonathon Mass, Jacob Miller, Coach Ray Lore and the Hartshorne High School senior class. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
