Jamie Stratton, 61, of Lafayette, passed away at 6:10 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at IU Arnett Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1953, in Batesville, to Jeraldine Jahnigen Humphrey of Osgood and the late James Humphrey.
Jamie graduated from Jac-Cen-Del High School in 1971 and went on to earn her BS in nursing from the University of Evansville in 1975 and her MS in Pediatric Nursing from the University of Missouri in 1981.
On May 31, 1975 she married Sam Stratton in Osgood, and he survives.
For the past several years Jamie has been an assistant nurse at East Tipp Middle School and Hershey Elementary.
Jamie was a member of Buck Creek United Methodist Church where she was a long time Sunday School Teacher and served on various committees. She enjoyed baking, particularly cakes for special occasions, crafts, flowers, scrapbooking, and decorating for the holidays.
Surviving along with her husband are a son, James Stratton of Anderson, a daughter, Christina Stratton of Lafayette, and her sister Janine Stratton (Mike) of Holton.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 6:00 pm Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with funeral services at 11:00 am on Monday, December 15 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Dwight Monical officiating.
Burial will be in Dabney Cemetery in Dabney, Ripley Co IN..
