John Henry's siblings: Emily, Timothy, Simeon Jr, Abigail, Lucy Ann, Lucinda and Jonas
He came to DeKalb County as an infant. John Henry farmed and bought and sold livestock in the Butler and Hamilton areas.
HENRY ALDRICH, oldest son of Simeon and Emily Aldrich was born in Hinkey, Medina County Ohio and died in Hamilton Indiana April 1, 1908; age 74 years, 1 month and 15 days. On Jan 2, 1850 he was married to Olive Wright near Edgerton Ohio. To them were born four sons: David W, Simeon F, Charles E, and Hiram H, all of whom are now living on or near the old home except Simeon, whose death occurred Dec 15, 1890.
He leaves a wife; three sons; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and many friends.
He was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1877 under the ministry of Rev JM Rush. In 1883 he moved to Butler Indiana and in 1890 was elected to the board of Trustees in the Methodist Episcopal Church in which capacity he faithfully served until he moved from Butler to Hamilton to be nearer to his boys in his declining years.
Henry Aldrich was a man of temperate habits, ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, and it can be truthfully said "That to know him was to love him".
The funeral service was conducted by his pastor Rev JS Cain, Sunday April 5 at 10:30 am in the Hamilton ME Church. Interment in the Eddy Cemetery.
