Ronnie Leon Benson, 13, of Charles Avenue, Dunbar, died June 4, 1986, at home.
The incident is being investigated by the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, who declined to comment on the cause of death.
He was a member of Ferguson Baptist Church, Baptist Youth Fellowship, Boy Scout Troop No. 37, Dunbar Bull Pups Football team and Charleston Optimist Club.
He attended Piedmont Elementary School.
Surviving: mother and stepfather, Margaret E. Benson and Larry Crockett of Dunbar; father, Roman Williams of Hempstead, N.Y.; sister, Lisa Michelle of Charleston.
Preston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
