Winnie was born in Galion on April 15, 1923 to Harry and Florence (Windbigler) Stevens. She married Thomas Sturm on Easter Sunday, March 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1999. They made their home in Elkhart, Indiana where they worked at Adams Westlake until retiring in 1988. At that time, they moved to Bradenton, Florida where Winnie enjoyed dancing with her beloved Tommy and they enjoyed the sunshine. After Tommy's passing, Winnie moved to Marion to be with her family and adoring sister, Bessie who was her caregiver, best friend and angel. Winnie was a member of the VFW Post 3313 Auxiliary where she enjoyed playing euchre and having a beer with her friends.
She will always be remembered and never forgotten by her sister; her daughter; special nieces and nephews who helped care for her; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Winnie will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the HUGHES-ALLEN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Matt Brent officiating. Entombment will be on Friday in the Chapel Hill Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Osceola, Indiana. Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of her service at the HUGHES-ALLEN FUNERAL HOME.
