Wm. De Winter died at his home on Hazel Street at 2:30 p. m. Friday, March 28, 1924, aged 74 years and 20 days. His death resulted from an attack of high blood pressure, after an illness of less than two days. He is survived by his wife, six sons, and one daughter. Mr. De Winter had been for several years an employee of the city in the street cleaning department.

Funeral services were held Monday, at the home at one o'clock and at the Third Reformed church at 1:30 p. m. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery. Relatives from out of town here for the funeral were Mrs. Minnie Simons, a daughter of Mr. De Winter, and her daughter, Miss Ruth Simons, and his sons, Henry of Ottumwa, Teunis of Delta, and Jake and wife of Oskaloosa.
