Mr. Jesse, 90, of Upper Pine, who was born on May 26, 1924 in Pine Prairie to the union of William Madison and Betsy Cloud Elliott, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 11, 2014 in his residence surrounded by his loving family and his caregivers. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and for more than 62 years was a Mason of the 32nd Degree in the Bayou Chicot Chapter #430. He was a superintendent in the oilfield and retired from Tidewater Compression working in Central & Southern Louisiana, and also served as a United States Veteran of the Merchant Marines. Jesse was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bessie Mae Crawford Elliott; and one brother, Julien Elliott.
Those left to cherish his memory, two sons, Karl Elliott and wife Chiara of Upper Pine and Greg Elliott and wife Missy of Beaver Creek; one daughter, Kay Vidrine and husband David Quirk Vidrine of DeRidder; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Shawn Manuel, Casey Foreman, Clint Elliott, Jack Sanford, Quirk Vidrine and Nick Vidrine. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Tanner Manuel and John David Sanford.
Visitation will begin Friday, December 12, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the church.
The family would like to express their love and gratitude to Mr. Elliott’s caregivers, Diane Leger, Joan Fuselier, Rita Drummond and Keri Foster.
