Mrs. Louise M. Hardegree, 86, of Monticello, died Sunday, Dec. 2, at her residence. Born on April 15, 1921 in Oglethorpe Co., she was the daughter of the late Meggs Marlow and Jessie Reed Marlow. Mrs. Hardegree was a resident of Monticello for the past 17 years, and was of the Baptist faith.
She retired from the packing department at Hercules in Covington in 1979. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother.
Mrs. Hardegree was preceded in death by her husband, George Emerson Hardegree.
Survivors include her daughters, Millie Preffer of Covington, Peggy Floyd and husband Frank of Lenoir City, Tenn.; son, William "Ben" Jump of Monticello; sister, Odell Mize of Greensboro, 11 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 3, at Lawnwood Memorial Park with Rev. Sidney Bailey officiating.
