Nannie Bierd Cole (nee Graham) was born Feb 11, 1899 in Oak Grove, Mississippi one of eleven children of William Gann Graham and Willie Katherine "Kate" Garner. She died Nov 26, 1973 in Wash., D.C. died of a heart attack. She married May 8, 1925, Park Agnew Cole. He was born Oct 30, 1889 in Alexandria, VA, the son of Dr John Thomas Cole and Henrietta "Hennie" Gibson. He died Dec 2, 1945, residence, 816 Massachusetts Ave NE 9 St. D.C.

Nannie was an expert shorthand stenographer for the US government; assisted in recording the proceedings of Congress for publication in the Congressional Record and also taught shorthand at night school. Her parents were buried in Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, Oak Grove, Miss.
