He was the husband of the late Ellen J. (McManus) Kenyon .
Born in Providence, a son of the late Albert E. and Jane (Bardsley) Kenyon , he had lived in the Governor Francis section since 1954.
Mr. Kenyon was the owner/operator with his wife of the Edgewood News Service from 1956 to 1979. He had worked in the circulation department of the Providence Journal Co. for 23 years.
He managed the South Providence News while attending the University of Rhode Island, where he was an engineering student.
He was the former coach and manager of the South Providence Newsies in the Tim O'Neil League. Lou Gorman of the Boston Red Sox played for Mr. Kenyon when he coached the St. Michael, Providence, CYO baseball team.
He was a communicant of St. Timothy Church.
He leaves three daughters, Judith A. Enos and Margaret A. Angilly, both of Warwick, and Patricia A. Aucoin of North Kingstown, and six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was the brother of the late Lillian Sheehan and Doris Bruen.
The funeral was held Saturday from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy Church, Warwick Avenue. Burial followedin St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
