She was the wife of the late William Woods.
A lifelong resident of Cranston, she was a daughter of the late John and Rosa (Doria) Melon. Mrs. Woods was a 1927 graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a public health nurse for the former Cranston District Nursing Association for eight years.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, the American Nurses Association, the National Public Health Nursing Association and the National Council of Catholic Nurses.
After retiring, she was a volunteer for the Retired Senior Citizens Volunteer Program in Cranston and a member of the former St. Mark's Senior Citizens Club. She did volunteer office work and was a tutor in the religious education program at Holy Cross Church. She was a member of the Holy Cross Women's Guild.
She leaves a son, William J. Woods of Murrieta, Calif.; a sister, Rose McCool of Cranston; a granddaughter, Jeannine Robinson of Clearwater, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Delia Vallone, Angela R. Sepe and Clara and R. Anthony Melone.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Mark Church, Garden City. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery.
