Wally was a resident of Coarsegold, CA and recently of Raymond, CA. Prior to moving to the Gold Country he was a long time resident of Pico Rivera, CA. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater on the troop transport Hansford from 1943 to 1946. After the war, Wally made his home in Los Angeles, his grandparents Frederick and Agatha (Price) Craig had moved from Colorado to the Los Angeles area just before the War. Wally and his brother Eugene were living in a boarding house in LA where both of them met their future brides.
Wally and Terry married in 1947 in Las Vegas, NV. After living in Los Angeles for several years the young couple moved to Pico Rivera and purchased their first home in what was called the G.I. Housing Track. He and Terry built their home in Coarsegold. This gave his grandsons many opportunities to visit and explore the area around their home and, of course, play in Grandpa's pond.
Wally is survived by his daughter, Arleen, son-in-law Doug and 2 grandsons: Brean & Arean and many friends.
Graveside services at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA. He was burried with Terry, who is also listed at Find A Grave.
