ALEXIS -- Jerry Wayne Bynum, age 63, of 105 Viola Drive, died February 10, 2002 at Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, GA. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2002 at Alexis Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley.
A native of Gaston County, Mr. Bynum was the son of Viola Howard Bynum of Alexis, NC and the late Blair Bynum. He was a retired Sales Engineer with Gaston County Dyeing Machine Company in Mt. Holly, NC, and a member of Alexis Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jean Lewis Bynum; sons and wives, Michael Wayne and Debra Bynum of Gastonia, Douglas Alan Bynum of Mooresville, Tracy Lewis and Beth Bynum of Huntersville, and Alex Christopher and Tisha Bynum of Marion; brothers, Hoyt Bynum of Iron Station and Ronnie Bynum of Alexis; sister, Wanda D'Addario of Arlington, VA; and grandchildren, Clayton Barnes, Caitlyn Bynum, Caleb Bynum, Catherine Bynum, Madison Bynum and Thomas Bynum.
