She attended school in Beverly, MA and moved to Norwich at the age of fourteen. Gwen was married to Bernard P Moore on her birthday in 1951. They were the first couple to be married in the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel in Norwich. They built their first home together in Norwich. She was a devoted wife and mother, not only to her children but the entire neighborhood’s kids.
Gwen was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony’s Church, a religious education instructor at both St. Francis of Assisi Chapel and St. Anthony’s, a den mother, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, a member of a Women’s and a Couples Bowling League, a member of the Upper Valley Red Hat Society and was known to do some line dancing. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter and enjoyed caning chairs.
She is predeceased by her husband Beanie of 59 years in 2011 and a brother Brad.
Gwen is Survived by three sons, Bernard P Moore Jr. and Wife Debra of White River Junction, William J. Moore and Wife Cathy of Wilder, VT and Daniel A Moore of Lebanon, NH; two daughters Diane L. Sargent and husband Donald of Newbury, VT, Susan A Rogers and husband Stuart of Thetford Center, VT, eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and siblings Rose, Pam, Herb, Paul, Peg and Kathy.
A funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11AM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Norwich, Vermont on May 16, 2015 at a time to be announced.
