In August, 1943, she moved to Danville to work at Dan River, Inc. where she was proudly employed until her retirement in 1987. Shortly after her employment, she was introduced to Edward Lee Moss by a co-worker (Lee’s mother), while Lee was on furlough from the U.S. Army. They corresponded during his deployment to Germany. Upon Lee’s discharge they were married on September 21, 1946 until his death on December 31, 2006. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Anderson Lee Moss; and two brothers, Frank and James Baker.
She is survived by a son, Alvin L. Moss and wife Jean; brothers, Buford and Corbett Baker; sisters, Fannie Mae Baker and Ellen B. Gunnells; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted December 15, 2014 at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens.
