Billy Donovan Wagner was born in Oklahoma City, OK on December 7, 1941. Bill, a long-term resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 8, 2014. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jo Anne of Albuquerque, his children, Donovan Vaughn Wager of Tucson, AZ, Wade Alan Wagner and Anna Lorene Wagner, one grandchild, Austin Benedict, all of Albuquerque, sister, Donna and brother-in-law, Jeff Morrison of Fresno, CA, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Russell and Rosalea Bonner of Vacaville, CA and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Russell and Joyce Terry of Elk Grove, CA. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Donovan "Bill" and Sadie Lorene Wagner, sister and brother-in-law, Katheryn (Katie) and Thomas (TJ) Vaughn and sister and brother-in-law, James and Betty Hendrix. Bill’s parents died when he was 12 years old. Bill went to live with his sister and brother-in-law, T.J. and Katie Vaughn and their sons, Tom and Don Vaughn.
Bill attended college at Central State in Edmond, OK. Bill was a graduate of Fresno State College in Fresno, CA. Bill served in the U.S. Army and transferred to Air National Guard as a photographer. Bill worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for eight years then went to work for Abbott Laboratory and retired after 35 years. Bill was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed his favorite pastime, playing in a senior league softball team for Best Buy Pharmacy and traveling with his wife and family.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit at French – Wyoming on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
