Mrs. Mittie Warmath Northcott of Caruthersville, Mo., died Oct. 4, at 4:30 a.m. She had been in ill health for several months, but died of a heart attack. She was 69.
Mrs. Northcott, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Moore Winford, was born and reared in Tipton County, but moved to Caruthersville in 1934 where she had since made her home. She was a member of the Tabernacle Methodist Church.
Services were conducted Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church by her pastor, Rev. Michael Haynes. Burial was in Walton Cemetery with Maley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Besides her husband, Jessie Northcott, she is survived by two sons, Joe Volz Warmath of Memphis and Embry Warmath of Covington; three daughters, Mrs. Maizie Stallings of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Willie Rogers of Kerrville and Mrs. Mattie McPherson of Wilkinsville; two half brothers, Johnnie Faught (John Washington Faught, born Edward J. Grigsby) of California and Henry Barton Grigsby of Florence, Ala., 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
