Carrie Ann Booker Harris, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born August 4, 1946 in Itawamba County in the New Salem Community to Flemon Houston Booker and Eudie Mae Vandiver Booker.
She was a 1964 graduate of IAHS and worked many years as office manager for Retail Credit Bureau/Equifax. She married Donald Lee Harris on Dec. 21, 1963, in Sheffield, AL and they have lived in Tupelo for 47 years. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she was faithful member of the Friendship Class. Her hobbies included crocheting and reading, and was an avid Mississippi State fan.
Survivors include her husband, Donald L. Harris of Tupelo; daughter, Leigh Ann Henderson (Mark) of Tupelo; sister, Faye Yarbrough (Bill) of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Christian Henderson and Daniel Henderson; three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Louise Jenkins and Monise Moore; brother, Thomas Booker.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 PM, Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. Rick Brooks and Jason Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. Visitation is Wednesday from 5 – 7 pm and from 1 PM to service time on Thursday.
