Bobby Gene Mercer, 70, of Cove City, won the victory of this life on December 8 and is now smiling in the arms of Jesus. He was a member of Cove City Christian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Gail Mercer; his daughters and sons-in-law Pam Daugherty and Charlie, Rhonda Grissom and Scott, Alisha Withers and Cameron; his grandchildren, Joshua Daugherty, Daniel Daugherty, Caleb Grissom, Colyn Grissom, Corbin Grissom, and Ella Faith Withers; his brothers, Mort Mercer, Lynwood Mercer, Johnny Mercer; his sisters, Hazel Hawkins, and Mavis Ircink. He is preceded in death by his Parents Henry W Mercer and wife Louella Turner; brothers, Andrew Mercer, Foye Mercer, George Mercer, James Mercer, Woodrow Mercer; and his sisters, Janie Craft and Adelle Cauley. Services will be held Friday, December 12 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Cove City Cemetery.
