He was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Oberla) Sopko.
Mr. Sopko was a 1937 graduate of Plymouth High School and served in the US Army Air Force during WWII where he earned the Good Conduct, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, WWII Victory, and American Campaign Medals with one bronze star.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Western Electric in Kearny, NJ for 40 years.
Albert was a former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Dunnellen, NJ where he served as a councilman, treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of Mt. Joy Lutheran Church, Gettysburg since 1984 where he served in various capacities. He was also a member of the American Legion, Albert J. Lentz, Post 202 & AARP 1776, Gettysburg.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anne Helen (Kmetz) Sopko; a daughter, Beverly Poling of Flemington, NJ; and a sister, Cecilia Sopko of Kingston.
Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
