Roland K. Stalter, 87, of Meadows Mennonite Home, formerly of Chenoa, died at 6 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 7, 2014) at the home.

Roland was born July 2, 1927 in Chenoa to Wilbert and Margaret Brave Stalter. He married Violet E. Good on July 15, 1949 in Fisher. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Helen (Ura) Gingerich, Mervin (Barb) Stalter and Doris (Jerry) Foster; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Peg Stalter; brothers, Darrell (Fae) Stalter, Kenneth (Doris) Stalter and Wesley (June) Stalter and sister-in-law, Mary Stalter, Bloomington.

His parents; one son, Ivan Stalter; one daughter, Rachel Stalter; one brother, Leland Stalter and one sister, Faith Ratzlaff preceded him in death.

Roland farmed in the Chenoa area from 1949 to 1972, then in Chatsworth from 1973 to 1984. They moved to Wisconsin in 1984 and Roland worked in a machine shop until he retired. Upon retiring, he opened his own woodworking shop. In 1992, they moved to Meadows Mennonite Community until May 2014, when they relocated to Meadows at Mercy Creek assisted living.
