Mrs. Dorothy Wayne 83, of Lake Waccamaw died Monday, December 8, 2014 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Cleveland County the daughter of the late William Edward Baumgardner and Lula Honea Baumgardner. She was the widow of the late Earl Swindale Wayne. She was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Dale Wayne and wife, Sally of Lake Waccamaw; a daughter, Cheryl Hammond and husband, Dan, of Wilmington; grandchildren, Lisa Chi of Leland, David Gore and wife, Shawn of Riegelwood; great grandchildren, Hannah Evans, Isabelle Gore and Seth Gore. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Bill and Bob Baumgardner; sisters, Martha Lou Jackson and Letha Squires. Her funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, December 11, 2014 graveside and Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery by Rev. Pat Rabun.
