Mrs. Ransom A. Awtry, nee Lucy Lankelma, was born September 18, 1874, at Pella, Iowa. She was the daughter of Peter C. Lankelma and Johanna Barenvelt. After a lingering illness she passed away November 3, 1956, at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, having reached the age of 82 years, one month, and 16 days.
Funeral services were conducted for her on Tuesday morning, November 6, at 10 a.m. from the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home with burial being made in the Oakwood Cemetery at Pella. Mrs. Leonora Hettinga was organist with the Rev. Everett G Ward in charge of services. Casket bearers were C. Neal Verros, Marion Thomas, Jacob De Haan, Loren Vander Zyl, Richard Morrow, and Winfred Clark.
