Doyle C. Sowell, age 84, of Niceville, FL passed from this life December 6, 2014 and went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Doyle was born in Orange Hill, FL raised in the Wausau, FL area, and graduated from Chipley High School.

He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Air Force Reserves retiring as a Chief MSGT with the 919SOW Wing at Duke Field. He also served in the Civil Service retiring as the Disaster Preparedness Officer at Eglin AFB.

He and Reba loved to travel after his retirement and faithfully attended Faith Baptist Church in Niceville, FL and Liberty Baptist Church in Crossville, TN. Preceded in death by his father James Henry Sowell, (step father) Charlie Barfield, mother Eunice Barfield, and sister Nadine Kolmetz.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Reba, two sons, Richard (Cindy), Ronald (Debbie), 6 grandchildren, Jessica Marshall (Jonathan), Julia Marshall (Matthew), Rick Sowell (Brook), Ron Sowell Jr. (Leslie), Jonathan, Jared, twelve great grandchildren, and extended family Jeremy & Jerome Ball.

Those of us who knew him, loved and admired him. Those of us who know the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior look forward to being with Him eternally where death will be no more.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 12, 2014 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home in Chipley. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Wausau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in Wausau Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
