"MRS INSKIP MORRIS IS FOUND DEAD IN HER BED - Well Known Rome Township Lady, While in Failing Health, Was Ill But Short Time - The large circle of acquaintances of Mrs Mary Ellen Morris, wife of Inskip Morris, were shocked yesterday to learn of her death, which occurred suddenly at about 6 am yesterday at her home in Rome township, near Vrooman. While Mrs Morris had not been in good health for some time, she had been up and around attending to the household duties. She retired with Mr Morris as usual on Wednesday evening and upon arising yesterday morning, Mr Morris noticed that his wife was suffering considerable pain. She complained of pains in her breast and after giving her remedies which were kept in the house, Mrs Morris became easier and her husband went to the barn to do the chores. When he returned he found her dead, she having passed away apparently without a struggle. Mrs Morris was the daughter of the late William and Jane Shaw and was born in Rome township on April 17, 1853. She grew to womanhood at the Shaw home and in the fall of 1873 was united in marriage with Mr Morris. To them were born seven children, one of whom died in early childhood. The surviving children are: Warren Morris, who resides on a farm in Warren county, Mrs Charles Stoke of Tryonville, Mrs Anna Morris of Meadville, Clift Morris of Buell Corners, William Morris, who resides near Vrooman and David Morris, now living in the west. There are thirty-three grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, besides two sisters, Mrs David Hasbrouck and Miss Jane Shaw, both residing near Vrooman. Mrs Morris was a member of Sparta Grange and was held in high esteem by all who knew her as a kind and loving mother, a faithful wife and an obliging and courteous neighbor and friend."
