Charles W. Truitt, 79, of Acworth, died December 6, 2014. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with Dr. Ronald E. Cavitt officiating. Burial was held in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.

A native of Cedartown, Mr. Truitt had lived in Acworth for a number of years. He served his country in the US Army for 3 years during the Korean Conflict and also served in the US Marine Corps for four years during the View Nam War. He retired as a diesel mechanic from the Atlanta Air Trucking Company in College Park.

Mr. Truitt is survived by his wife Mary Jo Truitt of Acworth; son Michael Charles (Karen) Truitt of Decatur; daughters Amy (Brian) Williams of Acworth and Tracey Truitt Schultz of Peachtree City. Nine grandchildren also survive.
