David Ila Wilmoth, 54, passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at his residence.

David was born in Greensboro, N.C., and grew up in Statesboro and was a member of the Christian faith and the Baptist denomination. He was a 1978 graduate of Statesboro High School and attended Taccoa Falls Baptist College. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gordon and Helen Wilmoth of Savannah; his maternal grandparents, Virgil and Beulah Harpold of Greensboro, N.C.; and his father, James Gordon Wilmoth.

David is survived by his mother, Dorothy Ann Wilmoth of Statesboro; daughter, Caitlin Cooper of Lyons; brother, Marc Wilmoth of Louisville; special cousin, Harry Daves of Summerton, S.C.; many aunts, uncles and other cousins and his beloved pets, Alie and Tody.

The family will receive friends 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014, in Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Al Elliott officiating.
