An Australian Test cricketer. He played 54 Tests for Australia through the 1920s and 1930s. As a wicket-keeper he took 78 catches and made 52 stumpings. His highest Test score was 65 not out. He is best known for being the batsman hit in the head when facing the bowling of Harold Larwood in the Adelaide Test of the bodyline series.
