Son of Edmund Radcliffe, Gent. (1733-1778) and his wife Sarah, the daughter of James Stringfellow, he was christened 27 Mar 1775 at Saint Ann's, Manchester.

He matriculated at Brasenose College 30 April 1794.

Edmund married Frances, daughter of John Ford, Esq. of Berkhamstead Castle in Hertfordshire at Great Berkhamstead on 30 October 1810. They are known to have been the parents of five sons and three daughters.

Rev. Radcliffe had been rector of this church for more than twenty years at the time of his death.

Jan. 20. At Walton-le-Dale parsonage, Lancashire, after a short illness, the Rev. Edmund Stringfellow Radcliffe, incumbent of that church, and Perpetual Curate of Burnley. He was of Brazenose College, Oxford, B.C.L. 1808, was presented to the Chapelry of Walton-le-Dale in 1803, by the Vicar of Blackburn, and to Burnley in 1817, by R. T. Parker. He was affectionate in his family, hospitable to his friends, benevolent to the poor, courteous in his manners, and conscientiously attentive to the duties of his office.
