Mr. Mitchell , died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at National Health Care, Parklane. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Clifton Stanley Mitchell Sr. and Ruth Owen Mitchell . He attended Georgia-Tech and Mississippi State and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. Mr. Mitchell had retired from Sears after 42 years as a parts manager. He was very active in his church and served as a former Sunday School teacher of the A.B. Ferguson Class for many years and was a member of the Methodist Men's Club. He served on the Pastor-Parish Committee, was former chairman of the Stewardship Committee, was active in the Tuesday Morning Men's Bible Study and served in many other capacities at the church.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine McCartha Mitchell .
