Mary Ann was the daughter of Gideon Brownell and Elizabeth Wheeler. She was born in the town of Ascot, Quebec Providence,Canada. Her parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Michigan and Mary Ann and her husband, Jesse Beaman Pearson, joined soon thereafter. They all traveled to Nauvoo, Illinois to join the rest of the Saints in 1845. They finally arrived in Utah in 1849. Unfortunately, Jesse and Mary Ann were divorced in Davis County, Utah in 1859.
Mary Ann wrote a short auto-biography and she said she moved to Idaho, in her later years, with her daughter and they settled in Marsh Valley (Bannock County). She said she remained there until 1898. The only daughter that moved to Idaho was Mary Elizabeth Pearson Lockyer. Mary Ann has 3 Lockyer grandsons, and her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Lockyer and her husband, Thomas James Lockyer, buried in Robin Cemetery. Also, some say that Mary Ann died in Logan but she did not. She is buried in Robin (Marsh Valley), Bannock County, Idaho.

As an added thought, on the 1870 Census of Cache County, Utah, Mary is listed as Mary A. Harmaeson or Harmison (??). So, she must have remarried. (Yes, she married James Harmison).

The USGENWEB cemeteries list for Bannock County does show that Mary Ann is buried in the Robin Cem. She is listed as Mary Ann Brownlee (Brownell) Pearson. It said she was born March 2, 1815 in Ashcot, Quebec, Canada. She died 22 Feb, 1898, in ROBIN, IDAHO! She was 83 and buried in Section 1. Spouses were William Steele, Jesse Pearson, and James Harmison. So she did not die in Logan, Utah. Note: It is interesting that even though she later married James Harmison, she is listed as Mary Ann B. Pearson on the USGENWEB site, not Mary Ann B. Harmison.
