Lawson, Bobbie L. Sr., 67 of South Yarmouth died Friday December 5, 2014 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich.

He was the husband of Janice E. (Cash) Lawson for 46 years.

Born in Charleston, WV, the son of Bertin of Portsmouth, OH and the late Louise (Boyce) Lawson, Bob attended high school in Germany.

Mr. Lawson served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era, serving in Thailand. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1970.

Following his military service, Bob chose a career in auto salvage and worked for many years at Handler’s in Harwich Port. He also worked for over 30 years for Center Street Auto Salvage in Dennisport.

Bob was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge and once served as Past Grand.

He loved fishing and enjoyed camping, spending 10 summers in his motor home at Peter’s Pond Park in Sandwich.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Bob is survived by his wife, and his father; a son, Bobbie L. Lawson, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer (Guinta) of West Yarmouth; a daughter, Teresa LaFlamme and her husband, Paul of Feeding Hills; two sisters, Judy Watson of Memphis, TN, and Lois Riggs of South Point, OH; four grandchildren, Jake, Britney and Zachary Lawson all of West Yarmouth, and Annika LaFlamme of Feeding Hills; a sister in-law, Sandra Deratany of Osterville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a sister, Stella Lenox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Dec. 11 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 10 in the funeral home.
