EAST BARNARD/CHELSEA, VT - Dennis E. Doyle 58 died unexpectedly at his home in East Barnard, VT on Saturday, November 29, 2014.
He was born October 13, 1956 in Hartford, CT, he was the son of Wayne M. and Helen L. (Godfrey) Doyle. He attended school in Chelsea, VT graduating in 1974 from Chelsea High School. In 1976 he joined the U.S. Air Force and served until 1983. On November 19, 1977 he married Sheila McCoy of Chelsea. They were married for many years and together raised their two daughters, Melinda and Shawna before divorcing. For the last 13 years Dennis and his finance, Vicky Bragg made their home together in East Barnard. Vicky died in June 2014.
Dennis worked for many years with his father, Wayne and uncle, Tuffy as a L.P. Gas Technician for Doyle Gas Co. of Chelsea, VT and later for the Dead River Company of Woodstock, VT.
He was a member of the George Washington Lodge #51 F. & A. M. of Chelsea, VT. Dennis enjoyed hunting, woodworking, architectural drafting and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He is survived by his two daughters, Melinda and Shawna Doyle both of Chelsea, VT; a step-daughter, Amber Bragg of East Barnard, VT; four grandchildren, Jasmine, Deidra, Ivy and Skyler; a brother, John Doyle of Chelsea, VT; two sisters, Brenda Doyle of Chelsea, VT and Donna Waters of Brookfield, VT; an aunt, Julie DeGoosh of West Berlin, VT; two nieces and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his fiancée, Vicky Bragg; a granddaughter, Janine Driscoll; four uncles, Leo, Walter, Merlin "Tuffy" and John Doyle Jr. and three aunts, June Prescott, Gertrude Lyford and Doris Crum.
There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Chelsea in Chelsea, VT with Rev. Tom Harty officiating. The burial will be held later in the spring of 2015 at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT.
