Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late George and Esther Bolden Mingo.
Surviving: daughters, Mary E. Hayes of the home and Donna F. Searcy of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Julius C. Hayes, Jr. of Greenville; brother, O.J. Mingo of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
