Francis Stauber and his twin sister Ida Francesca Stauber were born on New Year's Eve, December 31, 1885 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio to Christian Stauber, Sr. and Ida M. Albrecht Stauber Haglage. Francis died shortly after birth the same day. Ida lived to be three years old. A few months before the birth of the twins, their older brother John had died at about the age of one year. Two surviving siblings were born after John and the twins.

John and the twins were buried in the same cemetery, Saint Mary, as their father.
