Tomas was married to Antonie Ticha on Feb 15, 1852 at Vecov #43, Vysocina, Moravia. He emigrated to America from Kuklik #50, with his wife, Antonie and five children: Franz, Vincenzie, Tomas, Ignaz, and Josefa, departing Bremen, Germany, ship name "Braunschweig", and arriving Baltimore, Maryland on Dec 6, 1874. They settled southeast of Table Rock, in Section 23-2-12, Pawnee County, Nebraska. Tomas is shown on the 1880 Federal Census as "widowed", but the date of death for his wife Antonie is unknown. Tragically, Tomas died on Dec. 3, 1903 in a house fire, where he was living with his son Tomas and family, rural Table Rock, Nebraska, as evidenced by an article in the TABLE ROCK ARGUS, Table Rock, Nebraska, Thursday, Dec. 3, 1903. Page 4, Col. 1. (However, in the article, Tomas is mis-identified as Joseph):
Places of burial for both Tomas and Antonie are unknown. Family history says that they are buried at the Dry Branch Cemetery, rural Humboldt, Nebraska, in unmarked graves.
