Donna B. Akers, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014. Donna was born in Jackson, TN and raised in Chattanooga, TN. She was a graduate of Brainerd High School and a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Kingsbury Sunday School Class and was an avid volunteer. Donna was an officer and member of the United Methodist Women and partnered with her husband David, teaching Wednesday night Bible Studies and Bible School. She was a big supporter of local church sports and the men's and women's sports programs at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where she attended college. Donna was previously a co-owner of Salina Shop on Brainerd Road with her mother Faustina Bristol and worked at Chattanooga Electrical Apprenticeship School and Training Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, David and her parents Herbert and Faustina Bristol. Survivors include her son, James Akers and her granddaughter, Ella Madison Akers.
