He was the brother of the famous actress Margaret Illington whose off stage name was Mrs. Bowes.
As a dealer in horses, Mr. Light's work brought him a wide acquaintance thru McLean and Ford Counties in Illinois.
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. I.H. Light and was born in Lebonon County, Pennsylvania in 1865. His mother died in Pennsylvania and with his father he came to Bloomington, Illinois in 1868. He resided in Bloomington until 1903.
Surviving are the widow and the following brothers and sisters: Huber Light and James Light both of Bloomington, Illinois; Mrs. George T. Wetzel of Jacksonville, Illinois; Mrs. C.B. Johnston of Bloomington, Indiana; and Mrs. Bowes of New York.
Mr. Light was a member of the Christian Church of Gibson City and a member of the official board of that church. He was also a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows Lodges.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church of Gibson City, Illinois on September 2, 1924, with burial following in a family lot at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington, Illinois.
